What Exactly GRE Tests

Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a standardized exam scores accepted by all US universities to compare students applications on same scale. The GRE actually tests student basic Quant and vocabulary skills acquired over the high school and college years. Students from Engineering normally do very well in Quant section and fail to perform in Verbal section. Most of the Indian students lack basic vocabulary skills which can be only acquired by intensive training. The Analytical section tests student ability to analyze an argument or issue and present it logically. Students who gets 300+ in GRE helps to get into a decent university in US.

  • One Analytical Writing section with two 30 minute tasks
  • Two Verbal Reasoning sections (30 minutes each)
  • Two Quantitative Reasoning sections (35 minutes each)
  • One unscored section, typically a Verbal Reasoning or Quantitative Reasoning section
  • An identified research section that is not scored may also be included
